So excited to announce I’ll be starring as NINA SIMONE in a new concert play premiering in October in NC!! I’m really honored to be a part of this amazing project and to portray the high priestess of soul!! The new concert drama will debut at SECCA on Oct. 20, yay!!!
I’m having a great time learning all of Nina’s songs and getting to know who she was as a person, a performer and activist. It’s such a blessing to be in this production!

Little Girl Blue, written by award winning playwright Nathan Ross Freeman, is a daunting concert drama inspired by the life and music of Nina Simone and her youthful self, Eunice Waymon. This play exhumes our daily conversations between who we were and what we have become; seeking settlement between dreams and dreams deferred.
Little Girl Blue, traipses behind the footsteps that print our paths least and most taken. How much of me am I still? How much of me is still becoming? How much of me is … still?
Little Girl Blue, is a Concert Drama that heralds 3 characters in tangled furious interactions; heart warming, heart wrenching, irreverently reverent exchanges between the Piano, Nina and Eunice. A noble dialectic exercise, a bravura in piano, bravo vocal and thespian performance.
Little Girl Blue, takes us on a journey, a tale, a story, a jibe between Nina and Eunice that threads and trashes 20 songs from Nina Simone’s repertoire playlist quilting Bach, Blues, Chopin, Pop, Brahms, Jazz interluded with passionate dialogue, barefoot stomps and sways, love life silhouettes, freedom marches, baptisms … that don’t stop … until the mix milieu is through with you and Nina and Eunice are one … again.
